Functional response and egg production of a native Typhlodromus recki Wainstein, 1958 (Acari: Phytoseiidae) population to Tetranychus urticae Koch, 1836 (Acari: Tetranychidae)

In this study, which was conducted to determine predation potential of Typhlodromus recki Wainstein, 1958 (Acari: Phytoseiidae) at Ege University, Faculty Agriculture, Department Plant Protection in 2018-2019. Functional response and egg production the predatory mite, T. fed on different biological stages (egg, larva, protonymph, deutonymph adult male) two-spotted spider mite (green form), Tetranychus urticae Koch, 1836 Tetranychidae) were studied under laboratory conditions (25±1°C, 60±10% RH 16:8 h L:D photoperiod). experiments, seven prey densities (2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64 128) for each stage offered daily mite. The results logistic regression analysis indicated that had a Type II functional developmental its according Holling’s models. attack rate (α) handling time (Th) varied based prey. highest α lowest Th values determined as 1.035 0.001 when predator larvae eggs prey, respectively. average mean number consumed by 111 128 densities. deposited found be 1.05 it eight-prey density protonymphs. addition, 0.15 two-prey with males. study indicates could effective promising control agent .
